Dr Sam Willis is an award-winning historian, archaeologist and broadcaster and one of the world’s leading authorities on maritime history. His work takes him on adventures all over the world. He has written more than ten books on maritime and naval history including the bestselling Hearts of Oak Trilogy and has presented numerous documentaries including The Silk Road; Weapons: Britain’s Armed History; Shipwrecks: Britain’s Sunken History; Castles: Britain’s Fortified History; Britain’s Outlaws and Nelson’s Caribbean Hell Hole. Sam is an Honorary Fellow of Plymouth University, a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, and a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries.
